Meet the Team

Born in Pretoria, Martin completed his Bachelors in Business Management through UNISA. In 2004 he decided to combine his creative side and academic knowledge and opened the Tygervalley branch. His attention to detail and uncompromising attitude concerning quality has resulted in the award-winning franchise consistently being one of the top-performing branches in the Western Cape. He believes in being active and is currently a keen cyclist.

Retha studied law and worked in an Academic environment before opening the Tygervalley branch with her husband, Martin, in 2004. Although Retha now primarily works the admin and financial leg of the business, she still enjoys the challenges and rewards associated with designing and bringing a dream kitchen to life. She believes that, most importantly, Easylife Kitchens Tygervalley is a business based on integrity, respect and honesty.

I’ve been interested in design from the day I got my first LEGO set…way back when. My experience with kitchen and furniture design begins in London, England in the early 90s where we designed fitted and freestanding schemes from mostly German and French manufacturers. I am an unashamed modernist and truly thrive on this style. I’m a keen amateur chef so it follows that functionality plays foremost in every design I do. For me, it’s about much more than just aesthetics. I want to think about and understand the ‘nuts and bolts’ too.

Donavon has been in the wood and cupboard industry for over 20 years. As storeman, he receives and dispatches all goods. He thus plays a crucial role in bringing your kitchen to life. Donovan is married with two kids, is a weekend DJ, enjoys playing pool and is a keen cook!

Adriaan has been in the kitchen industry for over 27 years. As he started off installing kitchens he has a particular eye for attention to detail and prides himself on designing kitchens that work. Adriaan has been working for Easylife kitchens for three years. He is the proud father of twins that keep him young and active.

Pieter dabbed between telecommunications in London and farming in the Karoo. And this is also where his love for drying specialised biltong stems from! Pieter has been in the kitchen fitting industry for 15 years and has been with Easylife Kitchens Tygervalley since 2008, as a regular fitter before becoming a remarkable specialist with a keen eye for detail. Pieter is proud of his team and the work they produce to ensure every client has a 'WOW' moment. And together with hard physical work, enthusiasm and pride in his installations, he thrives on delivering high-end results that will go beyond the clients' expectations and presentation.

Marahwaan has been in the carpentry industry for 30 years! He thrives on installing kitchens, vanities, TV units and much more. Marahwaan’s goal is that every client is happy with his workmanship and bringing their dream kitchens to life! When he’s not installing the perfect kitchen, Marahwaan can be found enjoying time with his three daughters and training Welsch horses to participate in shows.

Kashief has been in the construction industry for over 20 years and has specialized in carpentry for more than 10 years. He started working at Easylife Kitchens Tygervalley – Durbanville in 2023. Skilled in all types of construction, his true passion lies in carpentry. His journey in construction began while he was studying, working part-time with his father. Known for his perfectionism and attention to detail, he lives by the motto, "Do it right the first time, every time." When he’s not on-site, Kashief enjoys quality time with his wife and kids. He can often be found on the rugby field, sharing his love for sports with his sons and cherishing every moment spent with family.
